Fields & Frames: Theme And Idea

Stuck in our homes due to the pandemic we are facing all of us feel trapped in our homes but what we fail to recognize is that we were trapped long before that and that was by our screens. Not being able to live without our devices is a far more dangerous pandemic of all as it doesn’t simply kill us it gradually gets us addicted to it and then makes us zombies unable to live without them.

When we remember our childhood the days were sunnier the ice-creams were sweeter and the nights were dreamier. Unfortunately the children coming to the world today doesn’t get to experience that. The moment they start understanding what is going around them they are given a screen to make them stop crying or help them go to sleep because the parents are too busy in their lives. I first had a bit difficulty in understanding the theme of Fields and Frames but as I thought about how the only frame and field in our lives is our screens. Everything has become digital from virtual classes to online shopping. We all are living in separate worlds even if we are sitting on the same sofa. This detachment is the main cause of a lot of mental stress and fatigue. Which is why I chose to cover this topic using the Field & Frames theme by showing how a girl’s life is surrounded by screens and nothing else.
